Class of 2023

I’ve always liked working with my hands. Growing up in Iowa I had plenty of influence to do so, especially from my Grandma Johnson as well as my Grandpa and Grandma Menken. They all love crafting. In the periphery I was always building, but I could never fully dive in, until the pandemic. My parents had nearly all of my Grandfather’s woodworking equipment and I felt obligated to tune them and start crafting. With the time to work I started digesting everything I could about the craft and in my research a few names kept popping up, Krenov especially. Naturally, mention of the school followed. When I moved to LA to pursue acting, as I continued with hand tool woodworking, I realized I had opened a new path, one to the Krenov School.

I am grateful to be here crafting and remaining curious.
