The Staff
Each of our instructors are accomplished furnituremakers, some with businesses of their own. They offer their unique skills and teaching abilities to the classroom. We are fortunate to have a faculty member present during all instruction hours, allowing for a true one on one level of instruction.

Laura attended the last class that Jim Krenov taught in 2003 and her passion for woodworking lead to her assuming the role of director and lead instruction in August, 2011.
A graduate of the program in 1984 and ’85, Jim teaches in both semesters of the nine-month program and the summer classes.
Formally trained as a biology teacher in his native Denmark, his professional involvement with woodworking began with boat-building and lead him to study and eventually teach at the Krenov School.
Greg brings twenty-six years of professional woodworking experience to his teaching including experience in custom production shops and an artist-in-residence at the Appalachian Center for Crafts.
Todd teaches and cares for the facilities, minding the machine room, maintaining the supplies of wood and materials, and dealing with many other day to day responsibilities.
